July is National Ice Cream Month, and easygoing summer days are just right for making your own ice cream. It's simple enough with any of the variety of homemade ice cream makers - from old-fashioned crank-style makers that use ice and rock salt, to modern makers that feature a canister that can be frozen ahead of time.
